Hemlata (9/6/18)

Hemlata (DOB: 9/6/18) is a sweet and charming child who shows great interest in attending school. She is very quiet and obedient. She enjoys listening to moral stories and fairy tales. Hemlata has one older sister. Hemlata's father, Rajesh, works as a laborer in an electrical shop and her mother, works as a maid in a neighboring house. Their meager income barely covers their basic requirements like clothing, food, school supplies and medical care. The literacy rate in the community where Hemlata lives is very low. Most people are poverty-stricken and education is a luxury they cannot afford. People in the community started realizing the value of education, however, only a few parents are sending their daughters to school. Amidst such issues and financial constraints, her parents want to educate their daughters. They believe education will help their daughters get out of poverty and have a bright future.
