Laxmi Kumar (DOB: 2/11/19) is an only child. He enjoys attending nursery school and learning. He comes from a slum community where most of people live hand to mouth. Illiteracy and unemployment are rampant. People, especially men, work very hard and in order to relieve their day-long pain, they drink alcohol. Many men in Laxmi’s village are alcoholics. Laxmi’s father works as a sweeper in a mall. His mother works in a tailoring shop as a cleaner. No matter how hard they work, they are unable to meet their needs for medical attention, clothing, nutritious food and education expenses. Since his parents work all day to make money, Laxmi is left alone with no one to care for him. The absence of his parents is very difficult for him.
