Shashvanth (11/6/19)

Shashvanth (DOB: 11/6/19) is a cheerful boy who is full of energy. He wants to become a doctor when he grows up so he can help the people in his village. He lives with his baby sister, grandmother and parents in a small hut. He is very close to his grandmother and helps her when she needs. His father is a daily laborer in the agricultural field. After the planting season is over, he travels outside his village for construction work. His mother works for 100 days as a part of a government program that employs uneducated women for low pay. She cleans and clears grasses, small plants and bushes near the roadside. They use pond water for bathing, washing clothes and utensils. For drinking, they have a community tap provided by the government. During rainy seasons, the pond overflows, and water floods their hut. During this time they are displaced until their home dries out and it is safe for them to return.
